Job Description
Job Characteristics of the Role
1. Safety Leadership, Strategy & Governance
• Provide strategic leadership to the Safety function, strengthening governance and enhancing operational productivity.
• Develop, refine, and implement safety strategies, processes, and budgets to elevate organizational safety standards.
• Ensure adherence to integrated management systems, oversee incident investigations, and drive systemic improvements.
2. Compliance, Risk Control & Incident Management
• Advise leadership and departments on statutory safety requirements and hazard prevention practices.
• Conduct regular audits, inspections, and ensure readiness of safety equipment and emergency systems.
• Develop and monitor public and animal safety programs while strengthening risk mitigation frameworks.
3. Employee Engagement, Training & Development
• Lead employee engagement initiatives, performance assessments, and competency-building programs.
• Partner with Learning & Development to design impactful training modules and encourage a participative, safety-first culture.
• Review safety performance, identify gaps, and champion continuous learning and upskilling initiatives.
4. Coordination, Integration & Resource Management
• Coordinate safety implementation efforts across internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders.
• Oversee manpower planning, recruitment, and vendor management to ensure smooth safety operations.
• Utilize digital technologies to improve safety monitoring, reporting, and workflow efficiencies, including invoice processing.
5. Safety Culture, Review & Innovation
• Champion a strong safety culture aligned with organizational objectives and behavioral expectations.
• Analyse incident trends, observations, and safety metrics to drive data-backed decision-making.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives and undertake additional responsibilities to strengthen overall safety excellence.
