The position holder will be responsible for driving revenue growth for cotton segment by closely collaborating with other departments’ viz. sales / marketing / supply chain & operations / product development. The individual will have direct accountability for successful launch of products, product positioning, pricing and capability building of the sales teams through various technical product trainings and educating them on channel and product placement strategies. This individual will be responsible forderiving maximum RoI on a marketing spend of approx. 30 crores, dedicated for his/her portfolio.

Ideal candidate for this role will have a strong prior experience in leading strategic marketing, Portfolio strategy specifically in cotton crop while possessing very good technical know-how for related agchem products. About 70% of the responsibilities will be towards crop strategy & management, product and crop training to sales teams, coordinating with product development and regulatory team and providing them strategic direction wrt to the crop strategy –all of it towards steering the growth of the portfolio from current 300 to INR 500 crores by 2026and building a strong momentum of growth from thereon through a balanced mix of existing and new product introductions

Role and Responsibilities:

Strategic Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of strategies and business plans for the cotton crop by utilizing agronomic knowledge of the crop.
  • Act as a crop specialist, maintain thorough and detailed knowledge of different agricultural techniques, products, and technological advancements in relation to the crop across geographies aligned to markets of business interest for the client
  • Monitor and track trends in crops, competitor products, provide key inputs to business leaders and product development teams for enhancing crop campaign plans and marketability of assigned products to increase client market share in crop segment
  • Collaborate with extended teams’ viz. Product Acquisition, Product Development, Sales (Regional / Zonal / Corporate teams), Field Marketing, Registration, Supply Chain, Finance and Operations for facilitation of existing and new business opportunities

 

Operational Responsibilities

  • Prepare MIS reports and dashboards to report key metrics for the cotton crop segment in order to measure
  • Progress against business plans and status of assigned strategic projects.
  • Respond in a timely and accurate manner to routine crop and product queries for crop segment.
  • Lead resolution of customer complaints related to quality / field performance of products in the crop segment in a timely and complete manner.
  • Develop and drive knowledge management initiatives by creating, maintaining and updating relevant technical and commercial information relating to the crop.
  • Develop and publish reports and insights on competitor actions, products in the market catering to the crop segment assigned.
  • Prepare and share impact assessment reports for crop campaigns and share insights for future improvements.
