Job Description
As the Senior Director of Chemistry Services, S/He will play an instrumental role in expanding and optimizing our contract research offerings in discovery chemistry and peptide synthesis. S/He will oversee the strategic delivery of high-impact solutions to biotech and pharma clients, ensuring exceptional quality, cost efficiency, and timely execution. The role is critical in nurturing client relationships, supporting business development, and fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team of 80+ scientists and professionals, including 10 direct reports (Associate Director, senior managers), fostering a high-performance and engaged workforce.

Strategically manage and grow Chemistry Services revenue and profitability by expanding existing collaborations and converting fee-for-service (FFS) engagements into full-time employee (FTE) partnerships.

Oversee diverse project portfolios covering discovery chemistry, heterocyclic and asymmetric synthesis, total synthesis, green chemistry initiatives, solid-phase peptide synthesis, scale-up processes, and process optimization.

Champion safety and compliance initiatives to maintain a secure, efficient, and environmentally responsible workplace.

Collaborate closely with sales and pre-sales teams to support client acquisition, proposal development, and seamless project execution aligned with client expectations.

Implement robust metrics and KPIs to track project performance, resource utilization, and client satisfaction, ensuring transparency and accountability.

Lead key project expansions, including rapid scaling from small teams to large FTE groups, demonstrated by successful growth of PROTAC chemistry and other programs.
