Strategic • Develop organizational HR strategy and HR road map aligned to business needs and aspirations of employees • Drive leadership pipeline development process through succession planning, identification of top talent within the organization and institute mechanisms for development of potential within the top talent Operational • Anchor the development of a manpower plan for the organization and ensure adherence to the same by all departments • Lead initiatives to enhance the motivation and employee satisfaction levels across the organization • Oversee programs for adequate skill development and formation of a talent pool in the organization (especially for critical roles) by continuous job rotation and cross functional exposure to identified incumbents • Monitor efficacy of performance management framework and provide overall supervision and guidance to the performance management process through discussions with division and functional heads • Work closely with the Senior Leadership to develop business continuity plans, by developing contingency mechanisms around competency availability, people and policies Drive automation of manual processes in the HR department to improve efficiency of operations • Advise management on matters related to the administration of contracts or employee discipline or grievance procedures. • Call or meet with union, company, government, or other interested parties to discuss labor relations matters, such as contract negotiations or grievances. • Draft rules or regulations to govern collective bargaining activities in collaboration with company, government, or employee representatives. • Identify alternatives to proposals of unions, employees, companies, or government agencies. • Investigate and evaluate union complaints or arguments to determine viability. • Mediate discussions between employer and employee representatives in attempt to reconcile differences. • Monitor company or workforce adherence to labor agreements. • Negotiate collective bargaining agreements. Financial • Drive cost savings through manpower studies, productivity enhancement, redeployment etc • Develop Human Resources budget and ensure adherence to the same People • Ensure that the department is adequately staffed as per the manpower requirements • Build a team anchored in organization values and motivated to achieve its vision and mission • Foster an environment of learning, excellence and innovation within all aspects of team work • Conduct performance appraisals on departmental staff / personnel. Assess and fulfil training and career development requirements • Mentor and coach subordinates to develop the team’s capabilities and build a strong succession pipeline for the role • Plan, direct, supervise, and coordinate work activities of subordinates and staff relating to employment, compensation, labor relations, and employee relations.
